In early 2023, a launch team began to form at Mountain View Community Church in Fort Collins Colorado with the hope and prayer to see a new church planted in West Denver.
Then in the summer of 2023, with the commissioning and support of Mountain View, this team of 25 people moved down and began gathering in West Denver to plant Skyline Church.
The launch team had a simple mission that flowed from Jesus's command to the church in Matthew chapter 28:
to grow as disciples of Jesus, and make them of all kinds of people.
God began to shape Skyline for the work to which He was calling the church and began to give it vision for the downtown college campus, the city of Denver, and the world. Skyline remains that way today as it grows as a community of believers extending friendship and community to seekers, skeptics, and others considering the claims of Jesus.
